The DCBA Lawyer Referral Service can help you find a private lawyer for you legal needs!
The Lawyer Referral Service staff will match you with a Dauphin County Bar Association member who practices in the area of law appropriate for your legal needs. In addition to being a Bar Association member in good standing, our lawyers are appropriately licensed, insured and have no disciplinary actions against them. Each lawyer selected the areas of law in which they will accept referrals. The practice areas offered in the Lawyer Referral Service vary from year to year and are listed on our online registration form. If your legal situation is complex or a number of lawyers have already rejected your case, please call the Referral Service to discuss whether the Lawyer Referral Service is appropriate for you.
Like other Bar Association Referral Services, we charge a $51.50 non-refundable administrative fee via credit card and in return you may schedule a consultation of up to one half hour (30 minutes) with the attorney. To sign up for the Lawyer Referral Service, you can either click here, or click on the blue “search for a lawyer” link above to complete the online registration form.
Once you complete our online registration form for the Lawyer Referral Service, we will process your request within two business days and send you an email with the contact information for the attorney. It is up to you to contact the attorney and set up the consultation. The consultation will not be today and usually is scheduled for the next week or two. Thus, our service is not designed for emergency situations. If you decide you want to hire that attorney after your consultation, then you should discuss fee arrangements directly with the attorney.

We make every effort to return all calls within two business days – please only leave one message within that time period to allow our small staff to better serve you.
Please note: Our return calls may come from a blocked number. The Referral Service does not accept walk-ins and is closed on Fridays. The Service does NOT provide FREE legal services and our staff is not allowed to give legal advice or answer legal questions. Please check your email spam and trash folders for a message regarding attorney contact information prior to calling to report that you have not received that information.
